You will learn how to implement a range of decorative techniques to personalize your platter, including carving, stamping, and applying textures. The goal of this class is to experiment with various shapes and styles to craft a serving platter that is both practical and visually striking. Whether you’re a beginner eager to learn the basics or an experienced potter looking to expand your hand-building repertoire, this class offers a delightful and rewarding experience.

All necessary tools and materials will be provided, including clay, glazes, and hand-building equipment. Students are welcome to bring their own tools if preferred. This class is designed for anyone interested in pottery, from complete beginners to those with some experience looking to refine their hand-building skills. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and creativity!

Our experienced instructor, Sophia, combines years of pottery expertise with a passion for teaching. She will guide you through each step of creating a beautiful and functional serving platter. Join us for this engaging and rewarding class where you’ll not only develop your pottery skills but also enjoy the satisfaction of creating a unique, hand-built serving platter.

During the class you’ll learn handbuilding and sculpting techniques whilst making some beautiful handmade serving platters. Once we make the base of the dishes, we will add decorative clay elements and paint them with coloured slip to make them pop. This is a relaxing class for any creative type including complete beginners! 

All materials, firing and tuition is included in the cost. Once you’ve made your platters our technicians will fire them and dip them in a glaze of your choice, making them durable and ready to serve up your meals in style!
