Wheel Throwing

£235 (£212 for members)

The Cups and Mugs class is for beginners and intermediates, and focuses on the fundamentals of throwing pots on the wheel. In this class you will develop your throwing skills by making cups with and without handles. The class will go over a number of techniques including (but not limited to): centering clay on the wheel, throwing cylinders and other basic forms, making handles, and trimming foot rings. Over the 6 weeks, each participant will make at least one handled cup/mug and one tea bowl/handleless cup. Cups and mugs are one of the most fundamental forms in pottery, so this class should serve as a good entry point to throwing for those with no experience, and is a brilliant way to hone your skills if you have some experience already!
